NMIBC Guideline Update for APPs: What's Changed and Why it Matters

The American Urologic Association is proud to offer NMIBC Guideline Update for APPs: What's Changed and Why it Matters, an interative, 90-minute case based discussion designed for APPs. This course will address key educational gaps and barriers in the latest advancements in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer care as documented in the AUA’s Bladder Cancer Global Needs Assessment and is coupled with the latest updates from the newly released Diagnoses and Treatment of Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC): AUA/Society for Urologic Oncology (SUO) Guidelines Amendment (2026).

Led by a multi-disciplinary panel of subject matter experts, the course will discuss the impacts of the recent AUA/ SUO NMIBC Guideline updates and how risk stratification frameworks apply for optimal patient selection and treatment coordination. The panel will dive into practical ways to integrate novel therapies into NMIBC care management, monitoring adverse effects and applying shared decision making and patient centered approaches for improved outcomes.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Evaluate the impact of emerging NMIBC data and AUA/SUO guideline updates in the context of high recurrence rates and complications from current treatment pathways, in order to optimize their role in delivering guideline-concordant patient care.
2. Apply clinical risk stratification frameworks to identify and select appropriate patients with high-risk NMIBC, in order to support timely referral, multidisciplinary coordination, and treatment planning.
3. Implement best practices for safe and effective integration of novel intravesical and systemic immunotherapies into NMIBC management, with a focus on monitoring adverse events, counseling patients, and collaborating with urologists and medical oncologists in shared decision-making.
4. Develop patient-centered approaches to educate and support individuals with NMIBC, in order to address unmet needs, improve adherence, and mitigate the burden of recurrence in everyday urology practice.

CREDIT DESIGNATION: The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

OTHER LEARNERS: The AUA is not accredited to offer credit to participants who are not MDs or DOs. However, the AUA will issue documentation of participation that states that the activity was certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit^TM.
